Can you please read my instructions for this post and redo it as requested. All feedback on video product is to be in ONE post, following the structure outlined on my handout. You do not type out all your answers - you summarise them. As it stands, this is confusing to follow and I have to wade through a lot of material and an examiner would be yawning by this stage! Sort this for Tuesday please.

Feedback
You need to tidy the blog posts up - there are still several empty or unfinished posts - can these either be deleted or filled up? I see that Sam and Taylor have revised/ started to revise their early entries that were only analyzing representation in video rather than the Goodwin theories about videos and tying them in to what this taught you for your products. Can Kirsten and Sarah do the same or their research will not be as strong - all posts need to end with a reflection on what you can learn from your research for your own product....

I know you have made progress with your filming but you need to also keep working on the research and planning. There are still a lot of blank post titles here and you still are not tying your research in to your product and revamping posts in line with earlier comments. I would like to see some progress on this too by next week.

You still need to complete empty posts here and the whole would benefit from a bit of housekeeping - moving posts to create logical sections and deleting any redundant ones.... See me if you need to know how to reorder posts.
Some pointers:
- the early sections analysing music videos in general still need major refocusing - rather than looking at rep and ideologies, you need to analyse them to see how Goodwin's theory applies and state at the end what you can learn from this for your video... this means changing the title and quite a major rewrite for each of these - your current posts are too narrowly focused and not tied into your own product.
- Audience - you need to put the analysis post with the questionnaire post and define your target audience.
- Indie pop section - Taylor's initial analysis of the genre is a good start but you could list more of the key features - costume, instrumentation, content of songs, settings, names of artists/ bands, colour etc... Is it worth looking at the elements that are indie and the elements that are pop and how they fuse? Analysis of videos also needs refocusing to reflect what features a re common in indie pop videos - please get rid of / minimise the focus on rep and ideology - it's not 100% relevant. You also need at the end to focus on what you can learn from this video and use in your own...
- Institution -Sam - post on Marina and 679 - why not use this as your Institution post - would this label also suit your artists - why? Consider the role of the label in creating music videos and why they want a video? Think about where you would place your video for maximum effect....
- Sam - Telephone analysis - still needs to say what it is looking at and how this helps shape your own project.
- Album Cover work - Kirsten - need to list the main conventions of front covers, back covers and inside covers - what do you need to include? Do the same for the post on album adverts too!

Feedback
The gaps in the blog say it all - you still have a lot of research to do and you really should be at the planning stage. Kirsten, Taylor and Sarah - you all need to do much more.
You still need to work on the feedback comments given last time.
You have Sam's initial post on the conventions of music videos - then we have several that focus just on Rep and Ideol - why? They should explore how music videos work - do Goodwin's ideas about their conventions hold up? how do videos vary these ideas? what do you notice works well in the video you are focusing on? what could you use from this video? You need to retitle and refocus these entries or you are not really looking enough at how videos work; at present, you are just looking at one small feature (Rep) and not really tying it in to your projects - it's detached research and does not benefit your project much.
You have some posts looking at IndiePop Videos but I have the same issue with these - they look at general ideas about how the video works OR rep/ ideol. Again, these need refocusing. Why not insert a post looking at indie and pop genres - what are their key features as seen separately? (types of song, type of performance; colours; setting; costume - typical artists); then look at what happens when you create a hybrid or fusion and some artists that you think fit this fusion... Then, having done the general intro, go into the posts about indie-pop videos - how do they use and fuse their separate genre elements? what do we expect from this type of video?
Then, end this segment with a post, summing up what the implications of your research into this genre are for your video. This will give it much more impact and coherence and relevance. You can use some of what you have done but need to make quite bold changes.
Still need stuff on audience and institution - can Kirsten put her summary of audience research near to the questionnaire section and add a bit about it suggests you will have to bear in mind for your own product?
Sam - PP on Marina and the Diamonds - need to add comment on what it reveals/ what it implies for your product? Could sue it to show how an indie-op artist has branded herself - what elements create the quirky indie feel and how has she sustained this over her career? What can you learn of this for your artist?
Sam - Branding - part of this is about creating a distinct image (USP) that appeals to the right audience. You could add this in and then incorporate your study of Marina's image in here?
Sam - Lady gaga branding post - focus is a bit confused - you start by analysing the conventions of a CD/digipak cover...which would fit better later on in digipak post. It then merges into an analysis of Gaga's branding - better to label it as such and keep this bit here , as a follow-up to the branding work you have done OR adding it into the branding post, as an example of how branding is consistent over a range of products and why....
You must work to get this up-to-scratch asap - you should be well into your planning by now...

Some good work here now you have decided what you need to do!
A few suggestions:
- Action plan - Add a sentence at the start to tell me what this is and when you hope to have this all finished by
- Codes and Conventions of Video - Sam - why not add a brief analysis of the Beyonce video you stick on at the end briefly outlining how it fulfills the requirements? This would anchor the theory in an example a bit better, making a stronger point
- Analysis of Representation - why just analyse representation here? Why not start by looking at how it fits the Goodwin model and then moving on to how it represents the star? You need to link this research to your product in every case - why have they chosen to represent the star like this - gratifies target audience, forges a link, allows celebrity voyeurism??? What does your research suggest you will have to think about in your video? These posts need a little more work to focus them.
- Questionnaire - intro sentence please telling me what this is and, after completing answers, some analysis of what they reveal about your own product and how it will be shaped.....
